Love Triangles (2024)

I made Love Triangles based on my feelings about Metta meditation [Love and kindness practice]. This sculpture is formed from multiple triangle elements, referring to the triangle symbol, a sign of Balance and stability. I made the angles in the shape of sculptures to contrast the viewers' minds with the soft forms that advertisements use to show love and care and bring attention back to the reality of our feelings versus what is designed for us to believe. The title of the Love Triangle refers to the love and kindness we can give everyone, unlike the Love Triangle formed in TV series.

This sculpture is part of the series Feeling the Unknown; in this series, I explore how well we understand ourselves and our emotions and how courageous we are to delve into our inner selves to uncover mysterious aspects of our character. In my sculptures, I blend abstract and figurative shapes to express personal or social experiences and emotions that can't always be expressed in words. Many of these emotions are complex mixtures of different elements and feelings triggered by things happening inside and outside us.
